Section 2

Forum Rules

Spamming is not permitted. This includes, but is not limited, to: one word posts, repeated messages across many sections, inappropriately-placed topics (I.E. talking about the football game in a division section), and posting over 100 times in one day (unless they are all constructive, non-spam posts, or appropriately-placed spam posts). If you are not sure what is or is not considered spam, talk to a moderator, global moderator or administrator.

Do not flame (disrespect) other forum members. Please keep in mind that what you may consider a joke may be seen as offensive by someone else.

Do not use abusive language. This includes, but is not limited, to: racist, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate language.

Do not avoid the autofilter. Certain words are filtered for a reason. Avoiding the autofilter includes replacing letters with similar characters. You may star (*) out the word(s), as long as the entire word is starred. If you so choose, you may leave the ending of the word unstarred (“ing”, “ed”, etc.).

Do not use ban evasion techniques. This includes using proxies or creating another account to circumvent a ban or suspension. If you are banned or suspended from any part of the forums, it is for a reason. Any attempts to circumvent a ban or suspension will result in additional punishment, up to and including an indefinite revoke of forum privileges.

Do not create more than one account on the forums if it's not necessary. A user is allowed to have one active account, and one active account only. A user should only need to create and use a second account if that user is unable to access the first account (the "forgot password" feature and administrative help should be exhausted before this happens).

All of the items found in the KSI Code of the Conduct apply to all members of the forums, regardless of actual KSI membership status. Furthermore, nobody, regardless of rank/forum status, is exempt from following the rules set forth in this page.

If, for any reason, a moderator or administrator determines that a user has not followed the rules set forth in this page or the KSI Code of Conduct, or has otherwise posted forum-inappropriate content, the user will be given a minimum of ONE warning. After that warning, if the user clearly disregards the warning, the appropriate punishment will be given, at the sole discretion of the moderator(s) or administrator(s) involved.

The general punishment guidelines are as follows:

1st Offense: 2 day suspension of posting privileges
2nd Offense: 7 day suspension of posting privileges
3rd Offense: 2 week suspension from the forums
4th Offense: Indefinite ban or indefinite suspension of posting privileges

Note: Punishments are subject to change at the forum administration's discretion. Every situation is different, and may or may not call for different discipline than what is noted above.

Section 2.1

Shoutbox-specific Rules

Do not post images of any kind in the shoutbox, with the exception of the smilies that are used throughout this forum. (Example :) :D :( ) You may post a link to an image. DO NOT post links to images that violate any other rule, or the KSI Code of Conduct, or anything that is morally or ethically questionable (i.e. ****ography, extreme violence).

Do not argue with, flame, "gang up on" or disrespect any person, group or entity in shoutbox, regardless of their online status. If you provoke someone and they violate this rule in retaliation, you will be subject to the same consequences.

All other rules and the KSI Code of Conduct apply to the shoutbox and its use. The use of the shoutbox is a privilege which can be revoked at any time, at the discretion of a moderator or administrator.

Note: Punishments are subject to change at the forum administration's discretion.

The Code of Conduct outlines the rules that you need to follow to ensure that Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE, and Games for Windows - LIVE are fun for everyone. What not to do:

* Don't use Xbox LIVE, Games for Windows - LIVE or Xbox.com to do anything illegal. Microsoft is not responsible for anything you say on the service/website or for anything that happens because of what you say; you alone are responsible.

* Don't harass, abuse, or spam other players.

* Don't scream, yell, threaten, or stalk other players.

* Don't distribute, post, publish, upload, disseminate or discuss defamatory, infringing, obscene, sexual or unlawful materials like child ****ography or illegal drugs, including images, audio, video, or text.

* Don't post links to websites that violate the Code of Conduct.

* Don't give out information that personally identifies you (such as your real name, address, phone number, credit card number, etc.) while you're playing. This includes voice chat and the names you create for your gamertag or mottos. This information could be used by other players for illegal or harmful purposes. Also, don't give out the personal information of other players.

* Don't create a gamertag or motto that other users may be offended by, this includes comments that look, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate any of the following: profane words/phrases, topics or content of a sexual nature, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/ controlled substances, or illegal activities.

* Don't create a gamertag or motto that references controversial religious topics, notorious people, organizations, or sensitive current or historical events that may also be considered inappropriate.

* Don't cheat in a game unless cheats have been deliberately enabled.

* Don't modify or hack game content to create cheats.

* Don't intentionally play with someone else who is using unauthorized software or methods in order to help inflate your game rank or gamerscore.

* Don't post links to materials that could harm other users' computers or would allow others to inappropriately access software or Web sites.

* Don't impersonate or harass Microsoft employees, moderators, or staff members.

* Any non-game- related conversation that takes up a substantial amount of the forum or chat space and prevents users from finding game-related information may be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct.

* Don't use the forums or chats for any commercial purpose without the express consent of Xbox.com. You may only create an account for yourself as an individual. You may not create an account for your corporation or other business entity.

If you violate the Code of Conduct or the Terms of Use that you agreed to, action may be taken against your account.
Some offenses warrant an immediate account cancellation, including but not limited to hacking, modding, fraud, severe racial remarks, nudity on the Xbox LIVE Vision camera, continued creation of profane gamertags or profile content, and posting viruses or URLs to viruses.
In addition, trying to avoid a temporary suspension by creating alternate new accounts may result in a permanent ban on the new user account and a possible escalation of punishment to the original account and all related accounts.
If you create a gamertag that has been determined to violate the Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, you will be required to change it.
If you create Terms of Use or Code of Conduct violating content anywhere in the system, we may delete it and a suspension of varying length will be issued on the account depending on the frequency and severity of the infraction.
If we are notified that you are abusing the voice feature or message features, your ability to use the voice and messaging system will be suspended.
Microsoft is not obligated to send you a warning before these actions occur. If your account is suspended while participating in a tournament or competition Microsoft assumes no liability in the loss of any potential prizes or recognition related to the tournament or competition.
Microsoft is not obligated to monitor every post, but we have the right to remove any post or take action against any user.

Microsoft reserves the right to remove at any time, without notice, any user-created content from Xbox LIVE, Games for Windows - LIVE and/or Xbox.com.

Microsoft reserves the right to immediately terminate or suspend a user for violations. Microsoft can contact any Internet Service Provider and provide the ISP with information on illegal activities.

How can you avoid getting into trouble? That's easy. Just follow the rules.

Section 4

Rules For Making A KSI Gamertag

If you are going to create a KSI gamertag, you must follow these rules.

1. You must be a KSI member.
2. You may not put a "7" at the end of your gamertag until reaching the rank of Founder.
3. Your gamertag may not be sexually-explicit, contain drug references, or racial/discriminatory references.

The KSI Global Gaming Network ask that you wait two weeks before creating a KSI gamertag to ensure that you feel comfortable with joining KSI. If you leave KSI or are removed, we ask that change your gamertag so that you can no longer represent KSI falsely.
