Be courteous to others. Even if you don't like them. We don't particularly care what reasons you have, which may or may not include: "They stole my pink doll (or "action figure") " or "They brought my K/D in the negative."
We ask politely that you keep your pictures of your cat out of the shoutbox. Or any other pictures for that matter. or videos, or GIFs (It's pronounced like Gift without the T, btw...), or basically any media that may stretch the shoutbox or cause inconvenience for others. We ask you use Common Sense around the forums. That's all.
And of course the essential "We may alter these rules at any time without notice" statement which we will place here.

Guide for Easy Forums Usage [Updated 05.16.17]   03/12/2017

KSI Forums Guidebook / FAQs 2017 Edition   This guide is intended for new users to the KSI Global Gaming Network official forums website or those who are unfamiliar with IPBoard forums pages. The below information is only to get new users on track towards becoming a true professional forums user but cannot possibly answer all questions that may arise on an individual basis. For any questions that remain at the end of this guide, feel free to message a member of the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff for help -- they would love to see everyone active on the site and will help no matter how minor of an issue is presented.   Section 1 - Making Topics / Posting   The KSI Global Gaming Network is home to many different forums sections and subsections for members to chat among a number of different things from general topics, such as sports, music and movies, and anime and manga, to chats between members of KSI Clan Operations divisions and squads. The KSI Forums website is a great tool for communication between members all throughout the KSI Global Gaming Network which all starts with creating new topics and posting on existing ones. If you go to a section that does not have a topic that you wish to discuss between other users on the site, you are encouraged to create a new in the area most suited for the topic. For example, if you want to discuss the sporting event that is coming up this week, the “Sports” subsection under the “General Discussion” section, most relates to the topic. By going to the section you will see a button listed as “Start New Topic”. Clicking this will bring you to the “Topic Editor” where you can create new topics. You will need to meet a few different criteria before your topic will go live - the topic must have a topic title and have some content associated with it as a first post (the tags is optional). Returning to the example of creating a topic for the upcoming sporting event, you may want to name your topic “Upcoming Sports Event” so that other users can get a feel for what they will be able to read in that topic. If you wish to tag items to the topic, tags such as “sports” and “events” may be appropriate but are not needed. In the bottom text box in the section you will want to provide some content to get a conversation started. In this example, maybe you post “I am excited for Team A to play and beat Team B, how about everyone else?” This will create a conversation between other users, thus making a for a good topic. The last step is to click “Post New Topic” and your topic will go live for others to see. Try not to create topics that have been already created as the KSI Moderation and Administration will close the topic if one already exists. The other side of the conversation on the KSI Forums is posting on existing topics. Posting on topics will have similar steps as creating a new topic. If you find a topic that you find interesting in any of the areas of the site, join in on the conversation! Go to the bottom of the page and you will see a chat input box. Once clicked on, the input box will look identical to how it does in the “Topic Editor”. Type in your message and click “Post” and your post will go live for other users.  Every instance that you post or create a new topic you will receive 1 post towards your total post count. Any posts or topics in the Spam / Watercooler section, however, are considered spam posts and topics, meaning they are complete and utter nonsense. The topics here may include topics such as a “Count to 1000” where you simply post the next number in succession. You will NOT receive 1 post towards your total post count as this is the only section the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff allow spam posting. Avoid double posting when you are creating a new topic and or post. This could mean one of two things. The first is if you did not include everything you meant to in your last post, instead of creating another post to correct it, on the bottom, far right of your post is the option to “Edit”. Clicking that will allow you to edit the content of your original post. The second way to avoid double posting is to give the site a few seconds to upload your post. Clicking the “Post” button a second or third time may cause the KSI Forums to lag and instead of posting faster, create multiple, identical posts. This does, in rare instances, happen randomly. If this happens, contact a member of the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff to clean up the extra post.   Section 2 - Shoutbox The Shoutbox is an instant chat messenger that the KSI Forums offers to users. To gain access to the shoutbox, you must have a minimum of 5 posts. The Shoutbox can be found and accessed at the top of most of all of the pages on the KSI Forums. Although there is a feature to prevent it, forcing all users to wait a minimum of 7 seconds to shout a second time in quick succession, be aware the flooding the Shoutbox with multiple shouts can be considered spamming. The Shoutbox is moderated the same way the rest of the site is so it is important to still follow the KSI Code of Conduct and KSI Forums Rules and Regulations when utilizing the Shoutbox.     Section 3 - Profile Edits Your personal profile on the KSI Forums holds all sorts of information about yourself that is provided by none other than yourself. It can be made however you want, serious, silly, whatever! When viewing any page, you will see your display name and image in the upper right hand corner of the website. Clicking your name will spin down a menu of options. To change your “About Me” and other profile specific customizations, go to “Profile”. Once on your profile, in the upper right hand corner of your cover photo will be an option to “Edit Profile”; clicking that will bring up a number of different options that can be changed at any point, as many times as you wish. Some key areas of the page to bring up is the ability to change your profile picture, adding contact and personal information if you wish (none of them are required), creating an “About Me” that will be displayed when users first view your page. To create a signature or change your display name which will display that the bottom of all your posts, you will have to modify your account settings. Go to the upper right hand corner of any page, click your display name and spin down the menu options, and go to “Account Settings”. On the left hand side will be a menu of options that you change change, the two most common being “Signature” and “Display Name”. You can change these to your liking and the edits will be shown on every instance of a post you have made.    Section 4 - Moderation and Administration Staff If after following the steps to any of these sections, or your question may not be answered by any of these sections, you can forward your inquiries to the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff. The members of the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff’s jobs, no matter Moderator or Administrator, is to work for the membership and will all gladly help out. It is important to follow the Chain of Command with your questions. Moderators are the lowest ranked members of the KSI Moderation and Administration Staff and are in the cyan color group. Global Moderators are the next level and are in the dark blue color group. If your question / request is about some out of their hands, you may need to contact an administrator (issues such as forgotten login information / profile merges cannot be completed by moderators). Although it is not lower in rank than any other administrator, the User Support Administrator is the best person to seek out as it is their job to help members with KSI Forums issues. There is also, even in rank with the User Support Administrator, the Technical Support Administrator. Above these two administrator positions is the Chief Administrator followed lastly by the Webmaster. Most issues / questions can be solved / fixed at a moderation level however, so do not skip right to an administration level for moderation level question.     *Original Guide created by: Kered **2017 Edition created by: Anatomy

It’s been said that the true test of mastering a foreign language is the ability to make a joke in that language. While a sense of humor is usually second nature for most native speakers, it’s surprisingly difficult—if not impossible—to teach. It’s so difficult, in fact, that some reason that the development of a sense of humor will be the ultimate test for artificial intelligence. To understand the difficulty in teaching artificial intelligence to be humorous, consider what goes into making a joke.

    What’s in a joke?

On a recent trip to Australia, comedy writer, David Misch observed two manta rays engaged in—shall we say—extracurricular activities. With perfect comedic timing, he quipped “Hey! It’s fifty shades of ray!” The joke led his friend, a former computer programmer interested in artificial intelligence, to think about whether a computer could ever be programmed to make that joke—not merely be programmed to repeat it, but truly generate it were it exposed to the same circumstances that David Misch was.

In the end, it was determined that in order for an artificially intelligent computer to make that joke, it would need to be able to perform numerous, instant calculations. It would need to be able to connect the two very different topics of manta ray intercourse and human S and M, then it would need to be able to access the entirety of pop culture references to human S and M ultimately settling on Fifty Shades of Grey. Then it would need the ability to appreciate the pun, understand the rhyme of “ray” and “grey,” and gauge the audience’s ability to get the joke. Finally, artificial intelligence would need to do all of this in a blink of an eye to achieve good comedic timing (the joke wouldn’t have been funny five minutes later).

The moral of this story is that a lot goes into the making of a good joke and artificial intelligence is still far away from being able to replicate it.

    Funny AI

Though artificial intelligence is still a long way away from developing a sense of humor, that hasn’t stopped humans from trying. Apple executives, for instance, were not overly thrilled to learn that those who programmed Siri, the iPhone’s built-in personal assistant, had managed to work in a few jokes. Microsoft’s counterpart, Cortana, is likewise programmed to give humorous responses to certain questions. Of course the major difference is that these artificial intelligences are merely parroting back jokes that they were programmed to say in response to specific questions, not generating their own humor.

    The ultimate test

Some have theorized that in order for AI to reach its full potential, humans will need to feel comfortable interacting with it. Developing a sense of humor will certainly need to be a part of that process. Of course, that’s easier said than done. For the time being, we’ll have to be content with Siri’s dry sense of humor that she inherited from computer programmers.

  4. Xiaomi Mi5, speaker and 20,000mAh power bank confirmed for India

Chinese smartphone manufacturers, in India, seem to be tightening the noose on smaller manufacturers who are already finding it difficult to sell their goods in the budget segment. With Xiaomi, LeEco, OnePlus and many such Chinese players struggling to take the bigger share the Indian smartphone market, only the one who offers a true value for its product will take home the bigger piece of cake.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 3 in India this week. The price for the device is insanely good as it promises a good ratio of price to performance. For just Rs 9,999, the Redmi Note 3 offers a stunning metal body with a powerful Snapdragon 650 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A fingerprint sensor, 4G VoLTE compatibility, a 4050mAh battery and a 16MP camera are some of the main USPs of the Redmi Note 3. Apart from the above, the device also sports a Full HD display at 5.5-inches and an expandable storage. For an additional price of Rs 2,000, you can get a 3GB RAM - 32GB storage variant. The units will start sales on Mi.com and Amazon, followed by Flipkart, Snapdeal and a few more local outlets.

At the same event, Global VP for Xiaomi, Hugo Barra announced that the flagship Mi 5, which was earlier announced in Barecelona during the MWC and launched in China earlier this week, will also see sales in India in a few weeks from now. The flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 sports a 5.15-inch Full HD display, a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3GB/4GB of RAM variants, three storage variants (32/64/128GB), 13MP/4MP cameras and a 3000mAh battery power bank apart from a fingerprint sensor and a 4G VoLTE compatibility. The price for the Indian market has not yet been decided, but you can expect the handsets to be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in India.

The same event also witnessed the launch of two more devices from the Xiaomi stable. A portable Bluetooth speaker and a 20,000mAh battery has also been announced for sale in India within the next few weeks. The Mi Bluetooth Speaker will be priced at Rs 1,999 in the Indian market, while the 20,000mAh power bank will see a price tag of Rs 1,699.

The Mi Bluetooth Speaker features an all-aluminum body with a compact form factor and colorful variants. The speaker holds a stereo driver system and is powered by a 1500mAh battery for an 8-hour battery life. The speaker is compatible with smartphones and computers with a Bluetooth 4.0 interface and also sports AVRCP for music control. You can also use the speaker as wireless speakerphone/hands-free when paired with your smartphone. The Chinese version of the same speaker has a microSD card, but the Indian version will not sport the storage interface. You can use the speaker with non-Bluetooth compatible devices too using the AUX port. The speaker comes packed with a protective case, but has no cables for audio or charging. You would have to rely on your own smartphone charger to top up the internal battery.

The 20,000mAh power bank is an upscale from the existing 16,000mAh battery, but has a lighter weight, a thinner form factor and efficient charging capabilities.

  5. The Comprehensive Guide to Power Bank Purchase

If you have experienced your phone battery running down in the middle of the day, and you are considering buying a power bank but can’t seem to understand the numerous options and brands in Nigeria, you have come to the right place.

Power banks come in different shapes, weights and capabilities, ranging from emergency credit-card sized devices such as the Jeway JD-9108 portable usb that offers quick boost to keep you going until you get home, to the ultra-high capacity New Age 13000Mah Mobile power bank, which is a good companion if you are going camping and have several devices to charge or you are having power supply issues.

The problem with buying a power banks nowadays is knowing whether they actually perform well or they become duds after awhile. In today’s technology-paced world, where phones get faster every year, but battery life doesn’t seem to get any better, you need an efficient power bank to keep your smartphone, tablet or other USB – powered device going all day considering the incessant power outages which is prevalent in this part of the world. You need an effective power buddy that could save you from the hassles.

When purchasing a power bank, the following should be done and put into consideration before making your final pick:

    Research The Brand

Anyone can launch an OEM brand of power banks. The question would be on ensuring reliability. That’s why it is important to look through reviews and comments before purchasing a power bank as you might be purchasing a dud.

It is well known that unscrupulous brands inflate the capacity of the power bank; and even worse when a shop knows but yet plays a role in selling these power banks to the public.

With many horror stories, purchasing power banks in Nigeria can be a sink or swim situation. That is why we decided to put up this buying guide for power banks.

    power bank

    Things to look out for

    1.Portability:

Some power banks are small and light enough to slide into your pocket; for others you’ll notice their presence even when slung in a bag. Pay particular attention to their weight and avoid bulky designs if this is a device you’ll carry everyday, rather than in certain situations only.

    2.Capacity:

When purchasing your power bank, it is crucial that you don’t purchase one below the capacity of your phone as you would not be able to even charge your phone for a cycle. Thus, do check your phone’s battery capacity before continuing. Here’s the battery capacity if you are using an iPhone. We’ve thrown in the battery capacity for the Samsung Galaxy S6 as well, if you would like to make a comparison.

    iPhone 5s – 1560 mAh

    iPhone 6 – 1810 mAh

    Samsung Galaxy S6 – 2550 mAh

    iPhone 6 Plus – 2915 mAh

It is crucial to ensure that your power bank’s battery capacity is larger than the capacity of your smartphone’s battery. Otherwise, you would not be able to get even a single charge on your phone.

For most power banks, the efficiency rate of the power bank is about 50 to 60% of the stated capacity. This is due to conversion of the charge from the battery to your phone and loss of power from the power cable. On more advanced power banks like the Anker, efficiency rate is as much as 70 to 80% of the stated charge, depending on the model.

As such, if you would like to have a power bank that is able to fully charge your smartphone 3 times (from empty), you would need to do the following calculations

(Smart Phone Capacity)*(Number of charges) = Power Bank Capacity *(Efficiency)

Thus, if you have an iPhone 6 Plus and would like to still fully charge it 3 times, the minimum size of the power bank must be 10,932 mAh and above. A safe figure would be a 12,000 mAh power bank Or for some other power banks with a lower efficiency of 60%, a 15,000 mAh power bank would be needed.

You have to understand however, that there are two caveats to calculating the power bank capacity

    A) Charge Cycles – If you have used your power bank for awhile, the capacity of the power bank reduces with each subsequent use. Most power banks come with an approximate of 500 charge cycles.

If you have used your power bank for awhile, the capacity would have reduced by the number of cycles it is used, even though it is a partial charge.

    B) Charging Type – Most people make the mistake of calculating the number of times the power bank charges their smart phones / iPhone by charging their smartphones middle of the way or by leaving the smartphone on while charging. The problem is that it is harder to charge the smartphone near maximum charge as the power bank would spend more power to charge your phone when it reaches 80 to 90% battery charge.

it’s important to note that a power bank will not deliver its full advertised capacity to your device; some of this energy is lost through heat generated and voltage conversion. If a power bank manufacturer doesn’t state otherwise, expect to achieve around 70 percent efficiency. A 10000mAh power bank might therefore deliver 7000mAh of power. Some of the best power banks offer around 90 percent efficiency. Check the specifics of your phone or tablet to estimate how many full charges you can expect from this.

    3. Number of USB Ports:

In most cases, don’t expect a USB charger in the box, you can use that which was supplied to you with your phone or tablet. Do note however, that a power bank with a 2A (10W) input will not recharge its own battery any faster than one with a 1A (5W) input when used with an under-specified USB charger. The reverse is also true when it comes to charging your devices. A phone that supports only a 1A (5W) input won’t charge any faster from a 2A (10W) output.

The number of USB ports that your power bank has, and the output current influences how useful the power bank is to you. For some of us, having a number of USB ports helps as we have multiple devices that might need charging. A good example would be the Anker Astro3, which comes with three intelligent ports instead of the usual two found in

    4. Added features:

Some power banks support a feature known as passthrough charging, but expect to pay more for this luxury. This feature allows them to function as a USB hub of sorts, meaning you can simultaneously charge both the power bank itself and your gadget, and it ensures the power bank is always topped up and ready to go when you need it. You definitely don’t want to be getting up in the middle of the night to unplug your now-charged phone in order to fill up a power bank. (If you have only one mains adapter, consider getting a desktop charger that can simultaneously charge five or six USB devices from a single mains outlet).

The best power banks also support auto-on and -off functionality. Auto-on allows them to begin charging your phone once plugged-in via USB and auto-off causes them to switch off when the job is done meaning no power is unnecessarily wasted . Those that don’t support this functionality will have a small power button on their casing somewhere, which is typically also used to light up the LED flashlight (if the power bank has one).

    Conclusion

When you purchase a power bank, you are not only purchasing a tool to charge your phone, but something you might potentially need in times of emergency. It is important to invest in a quality power bank that does the job for you.

A power bank remains an integral accessory for anyone who doesn’t want to have any glitches as regards maximum usage of his/her gadgets irrespective of power outages or challenges wherever you go.

Don’t purchase a dud and find yourself without power when you really need it. At VConnect , we bring to your doorstep the best ranges of power banks and gadget accessories there has to offer. Get your quality power banks today.

Well it's 12:30am est. Anyway looking at some gaming related news and up coming releases of the year and sadly to my view of interest there isn't anything that the remainder of this year that's coming out. Is there anyone else that is feeling this situation? Yeah I see that battlefeild 1 seems to be going back to basics with the WW1 theater of war and COD is just seeming to try and push it's new game with the HD version of COD4, I was never a big fan of counter strike: GO, sure I may play it here and there but never for long periods of time not like sitting there playing COD4 for 5 to 6 hours a night, I'm slowly starting to either come to terms that I may be stuck in a point in time at gaming where I want it to be like how it was. COD4 deagle snipes, magic C4 throws, ninja diffuses, etc. But the most important thing was those you played with to make the hours fly by faster. Good laughs, fun, and having the occasional hot streak of winning 10+ games in a row with your squad. There is no game out there that gives me that same feeling of enjoyment, it seems todays COD is trying to always be the next top charting MLG tournament and implementing more and more of Halo aspects which don't appeal to me. I can remember the countless halo jumpers and drop shotters in black ops series. Halo I only got into the campaigns not the multiplayer. I know I just seem to use a bunch of COD examples but that was the social game that everyone played and all your friends played at some point or another. To wrap up my ramble here. Is anyone else seeing nothing this year that is appealing to them, or is there a game your super hyped for?

  7. One of the most exciting things going on in the world of tech as we approach 2016 is the advancement of artificial intelligence technology. One of the biggest steps taken in the industry is the improvement of so-called “cognitive computing.” Cognitive computing is when a computer is capable of interpreting human meaning out of questions spoken in natural language. In other words, it doesn’t need to be given specified commands. They aren’t programmed to give a set response to a predetermined question posed in a specific way. They “hear” human speech, interpret what is being asked or said and determine an appropriate response.

    Does that make us obsolete?

As with any major scientific advancement, the idea of artificial intelligence is scary to a lot of people. One of the fears, and our literature and movies often depict this fear, is that artificial intelligence could grow smart enough to rise up and overthrow humanity. That level of artificial intelligence is probably very far away still.

A more legitimate fear, and a fear that could be realized very soon, is the idea that artificial intelligence can grow smart enough that it no longer needs us. If we create something autonomous, it can take our jobs, do them better than we can, and make us obsolete. For some, that may be a fate worse than death at the hands of a robot apocalypse.

According to developers, the answer is “no”

In a recent survey of 529 artificial intelligence developers, 47% said that machine learning software still requires human input some of the time. Just 2.6% reported that human input wasn’t required at all. That means that approximately 97.4% of the most advanced computers in the world still need the human touch.

You can expect the cognitive computing industry to continue to grow in the coming years and expect artificial intelligence to become even more advanced. But according to the leading researchers in the field who understand the concept of artificial intelligence more than anyone else, even as these computers and programs are designed and released into the world, they will still need a team of humans to keep them working properly. It seems that humans don’t need to worry about losing their jobs to artificial intelligence anytime soon.

But now that computers can interpret and respond to questions, it’d be interesting to see how they’d answer the question: “Do you still need us?”

Rain gutters are an often unappreciated part of the home. They tend to be ignored so long as they’re doing their job. But just like any other aspect of a home, the rain gutter system eventually wears down. Severe weather and poor maintenance can cause a rain gutter system to stop functioning properly. When that happens, all sorts of problems crop up. Water can get backed up on the roof drastically shortening the life of the shingles. Rain gutters than aren’t capturing water cause water to spill off the roof and accumulate around the foundation of the home leading to serious problems. In the winter, a poorly functioning rain gutter system can lead to the formation of ice dams along the edge of your roof. To avoid these sorts of problems, homeowners need to be more aware of the status of their rain gutters and know how to take care of them. Here are a few tips.

    Clean rain gutters often

The leading cause of rain gutter damage is 100% preventable. Rain gutters are most likely to be damaged by allowing them to be clogged with leaves, branches, or other debris. Experts recommend cleaning out your rain gutters regularly—once a year at the very least. For homes that have many tall trees in the vicinity, homeowners may need to clean out the gutters every 2 – 3 months.

    Perform needed repairs

There are several tell-tale signs that notify you it’s time to repair your rain gutters. Look for signs of rust on the rain gutters. Also watch for sections of the rain gutter that are pulling loose from the home or that are separating at the joints. Look for any sections that are sagging as that will prevent water from flowing towards the downspouts. On a rainy day, you can see if the rain gutters are leaking anywhere, such as in the corners.

If the problems are relatively minor, such as a section that has pulled loose, it can be repaired quite easily and continue to function properly. If the damage is more severe, you may need to replace the rain gutter system entirely.

    Maximize the lifespan

Some rain gutter systems last longer than others. Aluminum is the best option as it never rusts. But any rain gutter system can fail if it isn’t maintained. Experts recommend keeping them cleaned out, re-securing fasteners, and resealing corners periodically to get the most out of your system. Barring very severe weather, a properly maintained rain gutter system should last indefinitely.

Depression, everyone is going through something and might make it a bigger deal than what it is. Or there problems are bigger than what there problems really are. The real problem is how to get through it, what thoughts to have, what awnser to seek, what questions to ask, what people will help you become positive (were you will not feel negative) to help you get through what you dealing with. There will always be someone to help you. Just like there will be someone to put you down. Just remember there will be someone who has it worse than what you do. You will make it through anything believe in yourself. (If there's a will theres a way )

Metal roofing has long been synonymous with barns, sheds, and commercial buildings. Only in recent years has metal roofing become commonplace with residential customers. Metal roofing, just like every other roofing material, has its advantages. If you’re considering a new roof and thinking about whether you should stick with a traditional asphalt shingle roof or try something new, there are a few things you should consider first.

    Cost

Typically, cost is the single biggest factor in choosing your new roof. While it shouldn’t be the only factor you consider it is a very important one that can’t be overlooked. Most metal roofs cost about two and a half times more than an asphalt shingle roof. If you’re comparing metal roofs to higher grade asphalt shingles, however, the price gap can be smaller. No matter how high quality the asphalt shingles are, though, a metal roof will still cost more.

    Longevity

Probably the biggest advantage of metal roofing over asphalt shingles is its longevity. Metal roofing can last 2-3 times longer than a standard asphalt shingle roof. Keep in mind however that higher grade asphalt shingles are available for a little more money and a lot more longevity. As a general rule however, a metal roof is going to last a lot longer so if it’s important to you that you not have to deal with the stress of a roof replacement any time soon, you may want to seriously consider metal roofing.

    Maintenance

As you’d probably expect, metal roofs tend to be more durable and require less in the way of maintenance than your average asphalt shingle roof. While roofs are susceptible to cracking due to fluctuating temperatures, metal doesn’t expand and contract as temperatures rise and fall. While asphalt shingles can blow away in a strong storm or experience granule loss, metal roofs stand up to the elements a lot better. Metal roofing’s one weakness is hail though only larger hail does any serious damage. Most roofing warranties won’t cover hail damage for metal roofing and most insurance companies won’t pay for repairs either. If golf-ball sized hail is the norm where you live, you might want to consider a different material.

    Appearance

This is one area where asphalt shingles and metal roofing are pretty much equal. Both materials come in a variety of colors and styles. Chances are either material can complement your home if you choose the color and style carefully. If you’re still having trouble deciding, ask your roofing contractor. He/she will be able to make some recommendations based on your home’s architecture and the climate you live in.
