Shopping is hard. You know who is not hard to shop for? Gamers. There are so many neat gadgets and merchandise out there to satisfy any kind of gamer. The hard part? Choosing the gift. Never fear; there are options aplenty with this gift-giving guide.
New Console/PC Gear
Let's get the obvious out of the way first. A shopper can't go wrong with getting a new headset, controller, or keyboard for their favorite gamer. My personal favorite is still the Xbox Elite Controller. Those extra buttons on the back are so nice for sliding into a shotgun blast on Destiny 2, and the hairline trigger switch outclasses Scuf's any day just for the simple ease of use. However, any gamer could do well with an extra headset for the friend or spouse or kid who wants to play with them (or for those moments of rage when the original breaks.)
There are an insane amount of games available these days! Super Smash Bros is a new release for Nintendo Switch, Spyro: Reignited recently came out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and there are a number of games on Epic's new store such as Subnautica which is free until December 27. Shooter more their style? How about Red Dead Redemption 2 or Battlefield V? There are also pre-orders available for a bunch of other games such Anthem.
ThinkGeek has just about any kind of "geek" gear you could want in the form of clothes. Did I mention there's a 40% off sale going on right now? Hot Topic is another place that usually has some trendy geeky clothes, and their site is also having a sale of buy one, get one half off. Who knew it would be cool to be weird?
If you don't know what this is, it's a subscription that sends the recipient a box of gear every month. It could be a shirt, a collectible, or a code for something else. They have these for all sorts of hobbies, but we're talking about gamers. This month, LootCrate Gaming is featuring Gears of War, Halo, Galaga, and Mass Effect. Can you imagine a more epic set? (Get it? Since Epic Games made the original Gears game?)
So if you're shopping for that special gamer in your life (count yourself in that list), maybe these gift ideas will inspire you to find something a little more special than a gift card without having to brave those crazy shopaholics in the stores. Instead, you could use that time saved to get back to your own gaming life. Those resources aren't going to scavenge themselves!
